Composed this one in 8th grade & even recited it on Teachers' Day Celebration at school.
Good morning I say to all of you
and I know those who are paying attention
are just a few.
This is the scene of every class,
everything seems as transparent
as it is through a glass.
But actually the teachers are teaching
and the students are preaching.
There’s a light at that height
and I have to recite, a poem
expressing what’s there in my sight.
I see students eating lunch boxes
at the last bench.
The reason is clear they say
today they have brought
fries that too French.
I see students laughing at silly times
even when the teacher is serious
and even when the topic is crimes.
They pass a smile even
when they are being scolded,
it seems as if their minds are folded.
I see students playing before exams,
when I ask them….
Young ones of lioness are known as,
they say lambs.
I see some students sleeping in the class
and some waiting for the time to pass.
After exams on seeing
the less marks they are scoring
they say, “Huh, actually
the period was really boring.”
So let me tell you all
what’s the other half.
When the students eat, the teachers starve.
When the teachers are serious,
the students laugh.
When the students play, the teachers pray.
When the students are sleeping,
the teachers are awake.
Still, we don’t know
how many efforts do they make.
We are like tiny plants who need light
and the light at that height are teachers
who are always shining bright.
On this auspicious day
I don’t know how to say thanks
to all our teachers who are worth more
than all the money in all banks.
You all are priceless,
you are the founders of
every students special ability.
On behalf of all Thank You Infinity.
